About BTA:

The BTA exists to pursue, promote, represent and protect the interests of the traders, retailers and small and medium businesses in the Bankside, Borough and London Bridge area.

How are we doing this?

We have four aims:

Our activities are many and diverse. Every other month we hold a networking event on the premises of one of our members or at one of the local visitor attractions. In the intervening months we hold ’peer to peer’ training events. We produce four newsletters a year. We participate in other area events, and act as a point of contact for Southwark Council, for pan-London business networks, and for businesses hoping to relocate to the area.

BTA is also one of the organisations leading the process towards a Bankside Business Improvement District (BID). It holds three places on the board of "Better Bankside" (www.betterbankside.co.uk), one of five pilot BIDs in the Central London Partnership’s "Circle Initiative". It is hoped that the BID referendum will take place in November 2004, with a view to starting the BID in April 2005.

Membership of the BTA costs £40/pa. For more information contact Giles Semper, Small Business Development Co-ordinator, on 020 7928 9656, or email Giles.
